  • SOUTHERN PATAGONIAN ICE FIELD

The Southern Patagonian Ice Field (Campo de Hielo Patagónico Sur), located at the Southern Patagonic Andes between Chile and Argentina, is the world's second largest contiguous extrapolar ice field.[1] It is the biggest of two remnant parts of the Patagonian Ice Sheet, which covered all of southern Chile during the last glacial period, locally called the Llanquihue glaciation. This enormous ice mass feeds dozens of glaciers in the area, among which are The Pío XI Glacier (1,265 km2, the largest in area and longest in the southern hemisphere outside of Antarctica), O'Higgins (820 km2), Grey (270 km2) and Tyndall (331 km2) in Chile. The Upsala (765 km2), Viedma (978 km2) and Perito Moreno (258 km2) in the Los Glaciares National Park in Argentina. You can see a part of this stunning Ice Field if you hike the O circuit with us! • PATAGONIA INFO | HelloPatagonia

Chek out our Patagonia info section for valuable information. How to get there? Where to stay? What else can I do? INFORMATION IS POWER! TORRES DEL PAINE INFO The first piece of important Patagonia info: Torres del Paine National Park is located in Southern Chilean Patagonia. It is one of the most amazing natural places of our world! It was created in 1959 and today, has 227 298 ha. Torres del Paine National Park was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1978. Paine means “blue” in the native Tehuelche (Aonikenk) language and is pronounced PIE-neh, while Torres means “towers”. HIGHLIGHTS: The Torres del Paine are three magnificent granite peaks of the Paine mountain range or Paine Massif. From left to right they are known as Torres d’Agostini, Torres Central and Torres Monzino. They extend up to 2,500 metres (8,200 ft) above sea level and are joined by the mighty Cuernos del Paine which are a unique geological formation due to their two colors which actually are two different types of rock. (granite and sedimentary rock). The park has amazing valleys: Frances, Asencio, Bader. Rivers: Paine, Serrano, Grey and Asencio, Lakes: Grey, Pehoe, Nordenskiold and Sarmiento. Spectacular Glaciers: Grey, Pingo and Tyndall that belong to the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. Torres del Paine is home of many flora and fauna species such as: Pumas, Guanacos, Foxes, Andean Condor, Black Chested Buzzard Eagles, Huemul (native deer), Chilean Flamingos and Lesser Rheas (Ñandú)among others. Keep you eyes open while you trek cause they are all over the place! THE TREKS: The trails are world famous! therefore, they are very well marked, with campsites and refugios (hostel like), consequently, easy to get to every night. You can do day hikes or multi-day hikes. The most famous are W Trek and O Circuit. W TREK / W CIRCUIT: The classic version can be done in 5 days (but can be done in 4 too) It forms a “W” shape since it visits the 2 main valleys of the massif: Asencio Valley (the Paine towers) French Valley (Paine Horns and Paine Grande mountain) and finally, gets to Grey Glacier. This is the most popular multi-day hike in Torres del Paine. Normally people trek it from East to West, but it can be done in any direction. The W circuit is a physical challenge but a friendly one that can be achieved by trekkers with little experience. O LOOP / O CIRCUIT: This 8 or 9 day hike is a bigger challenge since it goes around the massif, through more remote areas of the park. It also goes through John Garners mountain pass which is one of the highest points you are likely to trek to in Torres del Paine, at an altitude of around 1,200 m above sea level. This is not a technical pass, but unstable weather in Patagonia can make it challenging due to strong winds and snow even in summer. The are amazing views from the pass of Grey Glacier and the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. Take in consideration that for accommodation, there’s two nights that only offer camping for the O circuit. The O circuit is an amazing adventure for experienced trekkers. SECRET TRAILS: Off the beaten track: There are other trails on the park that can only be visited with a guide and special permits. Therefore, are only available for rock climbing or mountaineering expeditions and closed to visitors because of the exposure or because of conservation reasons. This areas include: Bader, Silencio and Pingo Valleys among others. (secret Patagonia info) TORRES DEL PAINE PATAGONIA, CHILE PATAGONIA INFO The name Patagonia refers to a geographical region located in the southern end of South America. This region is shared by Chile and Argentina countries. The region comprises the southern section of the Andes Mountains with lakes, fjords, temperate forests and glaciers in the west (Chilean side) and deserts, tablelands and steppes to the east (Argentina). Patagonia is bounded by the Pacific Ocean to the east, the Atlantic Ocean to the east. Many bodies of water connect them, such as the Strait of Magellan, the Beagle Channel and the Drake Passage to the south. It has a total of 1,043,076 km2 (402,734 sq mi) area. Patagonia is home of the Southern and Northern Ice Fields, which are the third clear water reserve in the world. GENERAL INFO PATAGONIA, CHILE WHEN TO VISIT TORRES DEL PAINE? Our season runs from October (Spring) to April (Autumn) The less crowded months are October and April, but can be a bit chillier. Our busiest and warmest months are December, January and February. If you would like to spend Christmas or New Year’s Eve in Patagonia, we recommend to book at least 5 to 6 months ahead if you can. If not, still contact us, maybe we can find you spots. During the off season, the trekking circuits are not open to self-guided hikers. OUR SEASONS PATAGONIA, CHILE IS IT SAFE TO TREK SOLO? Yes! Torres del Paine is one of the safest places for trekkers and also solo travelers. We support many every season! Although, you do have to take in consideration that trekking experience is essential for a Self-guided trek. The trails are very well marked and you don´t need a GPS to do either the W or O circuits. But you have to be in good physical shape and feel comfortable finding the trail and following marks. This can be hard for beginners when the Patagonian weather conditions arrive! So, if you don´t have experience trekking, we highly recommend that you join a guided trip instead. If you do have experience and this will be your first multi-day trek, this is a very controlled environment to do so! All your meals will be provided at the refugios and you won´’t trek with heavy backpacks since all the gear will be provided at the campsites/refugios. SAFE PLACE PATAGONIA, CHILE TORRES DEL PAINE WEATHER Important Patagonia info: Get ready! That’s all we can say! This place is famous for its wilderness, beauty and crazy weather! Yes, we can get the four seasons in the same day. in other words, instead of trying to understand and predict it, better prepare for it! We will provide a gear list on your Travel Guide with more details. But the main idea is to be ready for sun, rain, wind and changing temperatures. You will be visiting one of the windiest areas. The wind is known for its speed and intensity and can reach more than 100 Km/ph! Trekking poles are a great ally when the Patagonian winds hit! Weather in Torres del Paine is determined by the Andes Mountains, strong winds from Antarctica, ocean currents and the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, which all together create very unpredictable, quick-changing weather patterns. • MOUNT FERRIER

Mount Ferrier lies on the western flank of Torres del Paine National Park, diving the infinite Southern Patagonian Ice Cap from the rest of the Paine Massif. Ferrier is a peak that is not part of the Paine Massif. It is located though, on a very privilege site right in between the Southern Patagonian Ice field and the Massif. Therefore, if you have the legs to climb the steep trail to its lookout, you will be rewarded by one of the most beautiful views of the area from a higher ground. You will spot Grey Lake and River, Paine Grande and the Paine Horns from above. The panoramic view from this summit is truly unbelievable as the Tyndall, Zapata, Pingo and Grey glaciers sprawl away around you to the west, and the glorious jagged peaks of Torres del Paine arise to the east. You can explore this amazing hike on our W Basecamp trips! DAWN, BONNIE & CHRIS (USA) - JANUARY 2026 - O CIRCUIT DAWN, BONNIE & CHRIS O CIRCUIT My husband, a friend and I booked a trip to hike the O circuit this January 2026 through Hello Patagonia. Leslie was amazing to work with; informative, thoughtful and punctual, with all of our questions and concerns regarding this trip. I do have to admit I was anxious about hiking the O Circuit: weather, remoteness, John Gardner Pass, etc., especially after the November 17, 2025 incident. The staff was quick to respond to all of our emails about what was going on with CONAF (La Corporacion Nacional Forestal) and the Circuit, allowing my mind to be as ease. The day before we started our hike, we had a meet up with Leslie which included a briefing of the entire 8-day O Circuit trip. We received a lovely waterproof map which Leslie reviewed the entirety with us. Hello staff was friendly and very excited to share all of her knowledge with us, what to expect, where to take a side walk for amazing spectacular views. Hiking the O Circuit in Torres del Paine was amazing with breathtaking landscapes, towering granite peaks, spectacular mountains, beautiful forests, magnificent sweeping glaciers, easy walking paths and more. Hello staff was available to us at any time on our walk, and said that we could send her messages thru What’s App with any concerns or questions along the way. The remoteness of the O circuit was so peaceful, beautiful and tranquil. Pretty much who ever you start with on day one you continue all the way through with. We met some friendly fun lovely people from all over the world whom we named our “O Circuit group/friends”. None of the O Circuit hiking was that difficult for us since we have experienced several fabulous long distant hikes in Europe. There was plenty of time in every day to get from place to place so you did not have to rush. All of the accommodations were great, we were in Refugio’s only 2 nights and tents the rest. The three of us decided we liked the tents the best. In the tents you are provided great thick sleeping pads, very warm and adequate sleeping bags and privacy. The food was all delicious and the box lunches you received for the day were absolutely the best. John Gardner Pass was not that difficult, we left Perros around 5:45 am after checking the wind and weather (every camp had access to wind and weather). We had dark skies at first, as daylight approached, we had overcast skies, then light rain sleet and of course gusts of wind. To me this is the way the weather should have been so for me it was perfect. For me if we had beautiful blue bird skies our day would have been just like any other day hiking in the mountains. We reached the summit at 8:15 am. The rest of the day was down hill (not to be taken likely) with breathtaking views of the Grey Glacier, Grey Lake, surrounding mountains, rainbows and the wonderful exciting swinging bridges. From the end of this day forward we linked up with all the many, many, people who were doing the W Trek. Quiet time is over. However, we still had our clan of our O Circuit group. The days ahead the hike continues along the Grey Lake with icebergs to photograph, through dry desert like areas, along nice easy to follow paths, up and down. We actually took the wrong path leading from Paine Grande headed to the French valley toward Mirador Valle del Frances. We missed the obvious path and went a little farther on and went on another path which ended up being the best way to go. After following and passing by a tour group of about 15 people with a guide we were by ourselves walking thru beautiful landscapes, around a lake rather than single file on the correct path with lots of people to the French Valley The French valley is nothing to be missed with spectacular beautiful glaciers, unimaginable sounds of glacier calving followed with mist and ice falling, and the highlight of the day the Mirado Britanico look out. Central was our last night out on our hike which brought us to the famous Base Torres/ Mirador Base Torres. We had perfect weather, starting at 7:00 am, arriving to the towers at 10:30 am. I can not stress enough START EARLY. We did not want to start in the dark so this time was great for us. When we got to the Towers there were less than 20 people there, on our return we passed HUNDREDS going up! You DO NOT need a guide, follow the path and enjoy it yourself. Hello Patagonia was a great way for the 3 of us to experience the O Circuit which includes the W Trek. We did not want to try to figure out how to book all of these campsites ourselves through the 2 sites CONAF and Vertice. Leslie was fabulous, happy, friendly, and exciting to talk to and more. I still keep in touch with her to this day. Her expertise, organization, genuine passion for the area ensured us we had everything we needed as well as the ability to contact her along the way if need be. If you are considering a trip to Torres del Paine Chile Patagonia, I 100% recommend Hello Patagonia. This was more than just a vacation; it was an unbelievable adventure to one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Let me add that our entire South America trip was absolutely amazing and far greater than anything I expected. My husband and I have hiked 5, 100-mile hut trips in Europe, and for me this is right up there with the best of the best. Chile, Torres del Paine O circuit along with Argentina, El Calafate the Perito Moreno Glacier and El Chalten, Mt FitzRoy this trip was clearly one of my favorites. It was all started with an easy email to Hello Patagonia followed with an unbelievable flight to Puerto Natales Chile on a perfect beautiful clear bluebird day with sights of the Southern Patagonia Ice Fields that are unimaginable. LILIANA & MARCO (BRASIL) - DECEMBER 2025 - W TREK LILIANA & MARCO W TREK Our time in Torres del Paine marked two major firsts for us: our first multi-day trek and our first experience sleeping in tents. We definitely jumped into the deep end! Since this was our chance to experience Patagonia, we started our trip a week earlier by exploring the Argentine side. We stayed in El Chaltén, where we "warmed up" with a few hikes, including the famous Laguna de los Tres, and visited several unforgettable places along the way. Back in Torres del Paine, we had our briefing with Isabel from Hello Patagonia, and it turned out to be one of the most important moments of our trip. She answered all of our questions, helped ease our nerves, and gave us valuable tips that made a real difference throughout the trek. We started the W Trek on a beautiful day. We hiked up to Camping Chileno and from there continued to the iconic Torres del Paine viewpoint, an absolutely unforgettable experience. Back at camp, we loved the premium tent and the outstanding service, including what we thought were the best meals of the entire trek. The first two days were physically demanding, especially while carrying our backpacks. By the end of the second day, my wife was exhausted and even began to consider leaving the trek. Once again, the Hello Patagonia team went above and beyond. They took the time to help us think through our options and even prepared a backup plan in case we decided not to continue. Fortunately, we decided to sleep on it. The next morning she felt much better, we rearranged our backpacks so she wouldn't have to carry the extra weight, and we kept going. We were rewarded with a much easier day and an incredible view as we arrived at Paine Grande. The following day we hiked to Grey, where we celebrated New Year's Eve. We finished our adventure with the boat ride across Lake Grey, which was a beautiful and memorable way to end the trek. Despite a few unexpected challenges, this was an incredible and life-changing experience for both of us. We were amazed by the breathtaking landscapes, the constantly changing vegetation, the impressive rock formations, and the skies that looked almost unreal. Most importantly, it was wonderful to have the warm, caring support of the Hello Patagonia team throughout our journey. They were there whenever we needed them, and their professionalism and kindness gave us the confidence to keep going. I'm sure we'll see each other again someday, because the O Circuit is already on my bucket list! GAYLEE & ELLIE (USA) - DECEMBER 2025 - W TREK + KAYAK GAYLEE & ELLIE W TREK + KAYAK TRIP My daughter and I started planning our self-guided W trek in early 2025 to celebrate her upcoming college graduation. We’re seasoned hikers and travelers but quickly realized that we needed expert help to navigate the complexities of planning this trip. I’m so grateful that we found Hello Patagonia and had them plan our December 2025 trek. I contacted several companies, but as soon as I talked to Hello Patagonia I knew we found the right team. They’re locals who truly know and love the Patagonia region, and they love sharing their expertise with hikers from around the world. They were extremely responsive, and they made the planning process and trip logistics very easy. After our trip was booked, the Hello Patagonia team made sure we had everything we needed to be ready for our trek, including packing lists, clear instructions, a map, and a very helpful pre-trek briefing. One piece of advice in particular from that briefing stuck with us - embrace all of the conditions you’ll encounter on your trek. We had multiple days of beautiful sunshine and blue skies, but the highlight reel from our trek would also include hiking through rain and eerie low clouds in the French Valley, viewing Grey Glacier as light snow fell around us, and random bursts of wind that literally took our breath away. We loved every minute of it. Thank you Hello Patagonia! SHELBY (USA) - FEBRUARY 2025 - W TREK I cannot recommend Hello Patagonia enough, every glowing review you read here is real and true and I feel so lucky to have worked with Leslie and Paola. I did the 5 day W Trek completely solo, and want to underscore how prepared and cared for I felt in this whole process. Leslie is incredibly responsive for any questions in advance and the “Day 0” briefing included a full walk through of the trip along a large waterproof map they let you keep, as well as discussion of specific tips tricks and suggestions for different pieces of the route. I’m a very active hiker but this was my first large solo trip, Hello Patagonia made it seamless by booking out all my room and board as well as transport to the park (about 2 hours from Puerto Natales). The Refugios were amazing , the food was top tier and never lacking, and the people I met along the way were incredible. I met many friends along the way so the solo trip became quickly communal but I loved waking up each day and getting to start alone to have moments to myself as well. I felt incredibly safe and informed at all times, the routes are well marked, and the W is highly trafficked so you’re almost always seeing others. Bring less clothes than you think but definitely layers! I was their at the tail end of Chilean summer but experienced snow, hail, hot sun, brutal wind, and perfect blue bird days. SHELBY W TREK TRIP FIONA & TIM (UK) - JANUARY 2025 - W BASECAMP We had the best experience with Hello Patagonia and would strongly recommend for anyone planning a trip to Torres Del Paine. Leslie was incredibly informative, patient and kind from start to finish. She helped us book the right trip for our needs (the 5 day base camp) and was very attentive throughout. Her entire team (the drivers, the private guides, Isabelle who gave us our briefing) were also excellent, very reliable and generally just nice to be around. The trip itself was very well organized, we were able to change things up when the wind got in our way, and Camp Pehoe was a beautiful base with hot water and very generous portions of food at dinner. Leslie responded super quickly without fail to our endless questions before and during our trip. The park itself is incredible, the hikes are amazing and varied and the views are stunning. Basecamp is a good option if you want more flexibility, a greater variety of hikes (we did lots of the shorter lookouts which you might not do on the regular W/O) and don't want to carry large packs. But I'm sure any option with HP would be excellent. Can't fault anything - book with them! FIONA & TIM W BASECAMP ANNETTE KIM (USA) - MARCH 2025 - W TREK & GREY GLACIER ICE HIKE Where do I even begin! Working with the Hello Patagonia team was easily one of the best decisions I have ever made in regards to travel. I am a very well traveled individual, and usually love the planning part of any adventure I go on. But, this was the first trekking trip I have done internationally so there were some nerves, especially given that this was planned quite last minute! My friend enlisted the help of Hello Patagonia two years ago, and highly recommended it to me when I was about to embark on this journey. I knew that I wanted extra support, but didn't want to do it in a group model because I wanted to go at my own pace and schedule, so this was the perfect set up. The moment a spot opened up during summer high-season, Leslie. Paola & Isabelle were a huge help in making this all feel unrushed, thoughtful and safe. The level of speedy communication, planning the details for the private transfers, making you understand what to pack/expect, and detailing out the actual hikes all in your itinerary was impeccable. They answered all my questions around cash expectations, location, recommendations on hostels etc, prior to the trip via email. I never felt alone in the planning process! The day before the trek, the in-person briefing was very detailed, and such a warm welcome to Puerto Natales, especially when traveling solo! Adding on the ice hike was also such a nice change up to the days and was an incredible experience. It felt out of this world and the team made you feel equipped to deal with crampons, ice axes and just took you on a memorable journey on Grey Glacier. Thank you for the trip of a lifetime! ANNETTE KIM W TREK & GREY GLACIER ICE HIKE KAREN & JONATHAN (SOUTH AFRICA) - FEBRUARY 2025 - W BASECAMP My husband and I did the W base camp trip in February 2025, and it was a once in a lifetime experience. I cannot recommend Hello Patagonia highly enough! Their communication and organization was excellent. Leslie and her team are clearly passionate about their work, and just as passionate about Patagonia - it was always a pleasure to interact with them and they were incredibly supportive. Our time in Torres del Paine was absolutely amazing and we cannot wait to come back one day! Thank you Hello Patagonia :) KAREN & JONATHAN W BASECAMP GEORGINA & STUART (AUSTRALIA) - FEBRUARY 2025 - O CIRCUIT Fabulous overall experience. The team makes sure everything is organized and runs well. The great weather was a bonus. Initially was concerned about food portions, and communal accommodation, but had no issues whatsoever. Would definitely recommend this company! GEORGINA & STUART O CIRCUIT TRIP IAN & FRIENDS (USA) - NOVEMBER 2024 - O CIRCUIT We had the most incredible experience doing the O Circuit thanks to the efficiency of Leslie and the team at Hello Patagonia. From the start of planning our trip we had every confidence we would have an enjoyable and rewarding time. All arrangements were clear and easy to follow. We save a significant amount of money by not going via a company with a guide as the information given by Leslie was more than enough. Fast to respond to any questions and proactive in updating us in any need about the trip. Had a very informative briefing meeting with Leslie and Isabella the night before the trek. All 3 in our group would recommend Hello Patagonia without hesitation. IAN & FRIENDS O CIRCUIT TRIP MARK & FRIENDS (USA) - JANUARY 2024 - W TREK My hiking group of 10 decided to change things up and rather than hike the alps as we have done the past 8 years we decided on the W trek in Patagonia. We were fortunate to find Hello Patagonia. Leslie was amazing! She had all the details necessary for our group. The trip could not have gone any smoother and we will definitely use Hello Patagonia with Leslie at its helm in the future. MARK & FRIENDS W CIRCUIT TRIP ADRIAN & CHEUNG (SWITZERLAND) - NOVEMBER 2024 - W TREK It’s hard to put in words — what we saw and experienced was really, really special. Thank you, Hello Patagonia, for letting us explore this magical place with such ease! Everything was so perfectly organized. Thank you, Leslie, for putting it all together and for building such an amazing team! Thank you, Paola, for your lovely briefing and the very delicious box lunch (which we enjoyed at Base del Torres 🥪). Thank you, Jackie, for having the answers to our odd questions 😅. J.P., a big thank you to you for getting us safely there and back, making sure that we stop at the right spots for great views and selfies :). And for the best advice “take the time to enjoy the views”. A big thank you to all of you for being such great hosts, and for being really attentive to details. ADRIAN & CHEUNG W CIRCUIT TRIP RADU & NICOLAS (USA) - JANUARY 2023 - W TREK My son and I are avid hikers, we have hiked together hundreds of miles, all of them in the USA, mostly in National Parks. The Grand Teton Crest Trail was our number one favorite trail. Since my son was in highschool until last year, we never had the chance to travel to Torres del Paine! the winter vacations were always too short. I had promised him years ago that, as soon as he goes to college, we’ll go hiking in Patagonia. When you are waiting for years for a trip like this, you want everything to go as smoothly as possible. I’ve done some research and decided to go with a local company to take care of all the arrangements for the W trek . We were looking to stay in ‘refugios’, spend four nights on the trail and do an ice-hike on the Grey Glacier. Hello Patagonia turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. All the details were perfectly taken care of and Leslie worked with us through all the steps, from the original planning to the pre-hike preparation in Puerto Natales, we stayed in touch during the trek via the wifi connection available at the refugios and after the trek was over, we picked up our baggages at the Hello Patagonia office. It was an amazing trip, needless to say, the Torres del Paine W trek is our new favorite hiking trip. We were surrounded by beauty for five days in a row, it is not just ‘the towers’, there is so much more to see on the W trek. We will be back for sure and work again with Hello Patagonia. We are missing Chile already, and it’s only a few months. Keep up the great work you are doing!” RADU & NICOLAS W CIRCUIT TRIP LUPITA & HECTOR (USA / MEXICO) - DECEMBER 2022 - W BASECAMP Planning our honeymoon trip to Torres del Paine with Hello Patagonia was the best decision we could have made! We started planning 4 months out, and quickly realized this was a logistically difficult trip to plan (getting to Puerto Natales, booking the campsites, knowing which hikes to schedule when, staying on top of other scheduling details like the catamaran, etc.). Having done it now, we are so grateful to have had the team plan all of the logistics for us! Hello Patagonia put together the perfect itinerary and allowed room for modifications along the way. We saw the best of the W trek (and more that you won’t see on that trail), with the comfort of being at the same campsite everyday, not having to carry our tents and big bags, and having the flexibility to modify as needed. It was very well thought out, carefully planned, and Hello Patagonia took care of all the details. Our driver Juan Pablo , made our experience that much more special. He was very knowledgeable about the park and region, gave us a variety of options for small hikes (when we weren’t doing the longer ones like French Valley and Base Torres), and really made sure our experience was tailored and enjoyable. Leslie and Jacquie were tremendously helpful during the trip planning phase (I sent them many many messages with questions leading up to the trip and they were both responsive and very helpful!). We felt the team really overdelivered on customer service. This was our honeymoon trip, so as much as adventure was involved, we also wanted a certain level of comfort. I could go on about how wonderful our experience was with Hello Patagonia, it really made our trip seamless and unforgettable . Their expertise and careful planning really showed, and we are extremely satisfied with how they brought our vision for this trip to fruition! LUPITA & HECTOR W BASECAMP TRIP CASEY & KYLE (USA) - OCTOBER 2022 - W CIRCUIT My husband and I did the W trek through Hello Patagonia for my 40th birthday. I had never done anything like this before! I didn’t know what the W would be like, but Leslie made us well prepared with gear, refugios, meals, arrival, departure, etc. I spent my birthday arriving at the glacier with epic views and jumping. We finished the day by kayaking through the glacier, and toasting with a glacier ice gin and tonic for my birthday and it was something I will never forget. Because of Hello Patagonia, we got to experience the Torres del Paine seamlessly. We were prepared for every step of the way, and as a new hiker, I cannot stress how grateful I am that we chose them. The trail has become a part of the story of our lives and we will never stop telling it. CASEY & KYLE W CIRCUIT JEN & JAMIE (CANADA) - FEBRUARY 2019 - O CIRCUIT After months of researching Chile, Patagonia and the O trek and narrowing down our vacation dates, we found Hello Patagonia and our planning became much easier! Leslie was fast to reply to any questions we had and even arranged private transport for us to Torres del Paine so we could get an early hike in before starting the O trek. The equipment we received from Hello Patagonia was in great condition, and the food & snacks Leslie packed for us were fantastic. After answering all of our questions, we headed back to the hostel, packed up and slept a few hours before getting early transport to TdP. The hike started Feb 14th, and experienced a lot of rain. A lot of rain. By the time we made it to Refugio Grey 4 days later we found out how much rain had come through the rest of the park! So bad that the entrance road between Laguna Amarga and Las Torres was flooded and they were using boats to transport people. As a result, the French Valley and the Las Torres Mirador were closed due to flooding. Park Rangers at Grey were unsure if we would be able to continue our trek, or if we would have to leave via the Ferry at Paine Grande. Thankfully Refugio Grey has an internet connection. So, we emailed Leslie a heads up and asked if she could find us a hostel if we have to leave TdP early. Again, she was quick to reply and help us out in our unfortunate situation. With so many people leaving the park, Puerto Natales was getting booked up fast. JEN & JAMIE O CIRCUIT TRIP LAUREN & SHANNON (USA) - FEBRUARY 2018 - W TREK + ICE HIKE Using Hello Patagonia was one of the best decisions we made when planning our trip. My best friend and I were trying to book this trip fairly last minute, had never been to Chile before, and initially we were very overwhelmed with all of the decisions we had to make and information we had to sift through. Surfing the web, we stumbled upon Hello Patagonia in the middle of our search, and we are so glad we did! Once we reached out to Hello Patagonia, Leslie jumped right in and made this tedious planning process easy, customizable and fun. Not only did she help us figure out the best route/direction to take the “W”, but she also figured out all of our transportation, meals and lodging. A lot of the places we tried to stay were full or filling up quickly, and Leslie still managed to get us a spot. She provided us with a list of what to pack/what to remember, and truly covered all of the details of the trip (even the things we forgot to think about for ourselves!). Certainly, meeting with them beforehand was really helpful. It made us feel really excited and confident about all of the travel plans and arrangements. The team helped us schedule the Ice Hike at the end of our “W” trek and it was AMAZING. It was one of the coolest things we’ve ever done/one of our favorite parts of the trip. Extremely unique to experience, therefore, I would definitely recommend to anyone doing the trek. My friend and I have traveled extensively, and this was by far one of the best trips I’ve ever been on – Hello Patagonia made it happen for us! LAUREN & SHANNON W TREK + ICE HIKE LYNN & ELISE (USA) - FEBRUARY 2018 - PAINE O CIRCUIT My daughter and I wanted to hike the ‘O’ trek in Torres del Paine Park in Patagonia. We waited until the last minute to plan it, then got very frustrated trying to reserve all the necessary camp sites on three different sites. Luckly I found Hello Patagonia. Leslie was the only reason we were able to make the 8 day trek – she worked extremely hard and quickly to secure us the reservations we needed. It’s helpful to work with someone located in and familiar with Puerto Natales, consequently, people who could answer all of our questions about transportation, hotel recommendations, and best places to eat. We have backpacking experience and didn’t need a guide, So, Hello Patagonia gave us the flexibility to do the trip we wanted but took care of all the details. We ended up staying in platform tents and refugios, as a result, had an unforgettable experience. It was cost efficient and money very well spent. My recommendation: I highly recommend the services of Leslie and Hello Patagonia!! LYNN & ELISE PAINE O CIRCUIT AVERY (USA) - DECEMBER 2018 - O CIRCUIT + 3 DAYS KAYAK Oh my goodness I do not know where to start. You did an absolutely amazing job helping me plan the perfect trip. After a very hectic four years, I wanted a chance to be in a beautiful to have a moment to think. The trek and the kayaking provided just that. It was so nice to have the ability to take time to really look at and ponder the wonders of nature in a breath taking landscape. Thank you for all of your help arranging the bookings and for creating a spectacular trip. Your love of Patagonia is infectious. I feel incredible fortunate to have gotten you and Seda as my kayak guides. Also, I love the fact you and Diego go to join the trip and be the engine of my boat. AVERY O CIRCUIT + 3 DAYS KAYAK AISHWARYA & AKASH (INDIA) - DECEMBER 2017 - W CIRCUIT + ICE HIKE Leslie helped us plan a super last minute self-guided W trek. She did an amazing job finding us accommodations at the Refugios when everything was full during peak holiday season. She made sure she fitted all our requests in for the glacier hikes and kayak trips. She was super responsive and was fantastic to work with through the uncertainty of our travel plans. All the instructions were impeccable and we were as prepared as can be for the unpredictable weather of Patagonia. She met us at the office the day before our departure and explained everything in detail. She even had a to-go lunch prepared for us for the hike the next day! We couldn’t have asked for anything better for our first time in Patagonia. The only regret I have is not doing the multi-day kayak trip with kayak en Patagonia. But I’m sure we’ll be back and these guys are a big part of our fantastic experience. Thank you Hello Patagonia!!” AISHWARYA & AKASH SHORT W CIRCUIT + ICE HIKE NATHAN (CANADA) - DECEMBER 2017 - PAINE O CIRCUIT Hello Patagonia helped make my o-trek very easy to plan. Leslie was great! She booked all my sites, provided excellent advice and was very accessible with questions. I strongly recommend the trek and using this service to make it an easy and memorable adventure NATHAN O CIRCUIT TRIP ADITYA & FRIENDS (INDIA) - NOVEMBER 2017 - W CIRCUIT + KAYAK Leslie and the Hello Patagonia team did an absolutely fantastic job of organizing our W Trek at Torres Del Paine. The team was very professional, prompt and gave us some great tips on how to make the best of our trip . We had a few hiccups with our planned kayaking leg because of bad weather, which also they managed/organized around so that we had a seamless trip. They took care of everything – bus tickets from the airport, car transfers, accommodation, etc. Could not recommend highly enough. ADITYA & FRIENDS CUSTOM W CIRCUIT + KAYAK BRIAN & FAMILY (USA) - DECEMBER 2016 - SHORT W TREK TRIP My wife and I were planning a trip to Chile to visit our son who was completing a semester abroad. Our trip itinerary included Viña Del Mar, Santiago and Patagonia. We had no problems planning for Viña Del Mar and Santiago but struggled mightily with Patagonia and Torres Del Paine. After much research on the internet I came across a company by the name of Hello Patagonia that helped plan and coordinate self-guided tours. We budgeted four days in Torres Del Paine and thus only had time to trek the “W”. Leslie, from Hello Patagonia, worked with us to develop an itinerary that included all daily treks, lodging, meals and transportation (bus and boat). All reservations were made by Leslie and went off without any problems. Also, we were very pleased with the interactions and dialog we had via email with Leslie. She was very responsive and addressed all our questions and concerns. Hello’s planning and communications allowed us to relax and feel confident that the Patagonia portion of our trip was going to proceed smoothly. Upon arriving in Puerto Natales and checking into our Hostel (which was arranged by Hello and was wonderful) we proceeded to the Hello Patagonia offices were we finally got to meet Leslie. Leslie is a very engaging and charismatic individual who clearly loves what she does. She walked us through the itinerary again to make sure we fully understood what the plan was for the next four days and answered any questions we had. Leslie provided us with vouchers for the buses, boats and lodging for our trip. Additionally, Leslie made sure we had all the necessary clothing and trekking equipment we needed and assisted us with some items she felt would be beneficial. We were also grateful for a fantastic local restaurant reservation where we experienced the most delicious Patagonian lamb. Not to be missed. Overall the trip was fantastic. Torres Del Paine was absolutely beautiful. The refuges that we stayed at were very comfortable. We all agreed that the food served at the refuges was first rate and very substantial. The fact that we could get beer, wine or a pisco sour at the end of a day of trekking was most enjoyable. Hello Patagonia, and particularly Leslie, made the trip to Patagonia a true pleasure. By handling all the planning and lodging reservations it allowed us to just relax and enjoy the experience. Without hesitation I would utilize Hello Patagonia again if we are ever so fortunate to return to Patagonia. BRIAN & FAMILY SHORT W TREK TRIP GREG (USA) - MARCH 2016 - SHORT W TREK You guys are great. Planning a trip on the other side of the planet is no small task. Hello Patagonia’s patience with all of my questions was wonderful. Also, their suggestions and local knowledge made for a seamless amazing trip. I have wanted to go to Patagonia for many years and now that I’ve been there I have nothing but great memories and great experiences. If you want someone who you can trust, is reasonably priced, local and is very helpful contact Hello Patagonia. GREG SHORT W TREK ASH & AMY (AUSTRALIA) - JANUARY 2016 - W TREK + KAYAK + ICE HIKE My Partner and I decided to hike the ‘W circuit’ in Patagonia last year and became overwhelmed by all of the options for organized tours available. Many of them were very expensive and had specific dates for departure. We knew nothing about Patagonia and the logistics of hiking the ‘W trek’ and so wanted some guidance, but we didn’t want to be constrained by a tour group. After much research we came across Hello Patagonia. First of all, their business model was exactly what we were after because they took care of all the organization and logistics of our trip, but allowed it to be flexible to suit us. We were confident that all of our transport, camping and food was organized for us, but we still got the experience of hiking and camping on our own. We were able to meet lots of other hikers and campers along the trail and during dinner, but we were also able to make our own time each day. Lesley was extremely helpful and friendly. She always emailed us back promptly, answered all of our questions and provided us with extra hiking equipment we didn’t have. Hello Patagonia was easy to work with, therefore, the best option for us to hike the ‘W circuit’. We would definitely recommend our friends who travel to Torres del Paine to Hello Patagonia. ASH & AMY W TREK + KAYAK + ICE HIKE JULIE, LAURA & MARK (AUSTRALIA) - JANUARY 2016 - W CIRCUIT + KAYAK We thoroughly recommend Hello Patagonia to anyone wanting first class service, excellent communication and excellent organization. We did a self- guided Wtrek in January and every detail went perfectly. The briefing beforehand was invaluable. It was the highlight of our trip to south America. Don’t miss kayaking at grey glacier, its unbelievable! JULIE, LAURA & MARK W CIRCUIT + KAYAK LILA & JUSTIN (USA) - NOVEMBER 2015 - TREK + KAYAK TRIP My love for Patagonia would not be the same if it wasn’t for my experience with Hello Patagonia. A good friend recommended contacting Leslie and the trip through Hello Patagonia ended up being a highlight on our South American adventure. From our first communication until we finished our adventure, HP were lovely to work with and I would highly recommend them to anyone. As a first time traveler to Chile, I had many questions in deciding the right trek for us and Leslie was great with communication. Firstly, she promptly returned our emails and with her knowledge we picked the best trip according to our timeline and interest, which was the Towers trek and a kayak trip. We needed to choose an outfitter who would provide us with all the necessary gear we needed but didn’t want to carry around on the rest of our trip in South America. As a backpacker wanting to pack lightly, that is a huge plus and worth the expense alone. From the packed lunch, the gear, and our ride to our overnight location. We felt well taken care of, allowing us to focus on the good stuff! The tent, sleeping bags, and even the tasty meal prepared for us after a long hike were beyond our expectations and of course with a view you can’t beat. Our kayaking trip was cancelled due to wind and it was the right thing to do and a good professional decision made by the team; one that my brother and I were just fine with and understood. Just walking around the glaciers, hearing the stories, and meeting the guides ended our day with a smile. Therefore, I highly recommend the Hello Patagonia team; on my next Patagonia adventure I won’t hesitate to contact them. They make getting outside and exploring their beautiful region easy, worth the cost, and what all trips should be…stress-free! With Hello Patagonia you can focus on the beauty of the mountains and all the goodness that comes from being outdoors. This Ventisquero (mountain glacier) Is not connected to a larger body of ice (like Grey Glacier is connected to the Southern Patagonian Ice Field.) The French, is located on the very top of Paine Grande mountain! Which makes it impressive! You can easily spot ice carvings and even some avalanches! It’s a Glacier that’s always moving and changing. It’s not strange to hear the cracking from Paine Grande or Frances camps! This glacier is at the entrance of the French Valley, so, the higher you climb, the better the views!
